About Watergate 2017-07-05T08:54:21+00:00

During bushfires many houses are destroyed when burning embers carried by the wind land on or around the house and gutters. Even houses far from the fire can be affected. With a WaterGate installed on each downpipe it’s a quick and easy task to close the gate, attach a garden hose to one WaterGate and backfill gutters to fight ember attack.
There’s no need to climb a ladder to plug downpipes as the WaterGate is located 1200-1500mm above ground level.
WaterGate also gives you more control over the amount of water that can be diverted to your watertank.

BUSH FIRE PROTECTION FOR YOUR HOME

WaterGate is the producer of a high quality water diverter that has been designed and manufactured in Australia using ultra violet stabilised plastics to suit the various weather conditions of this vast country.

WHY INSTALL A WATERGATE?

When installed on your home downpipes, the Watergate allows for your gutters to be quickly and easily backfilled with water. This is one of the key recommendations made by the NSW RFS when it comes to preparing your home for a bushfire. The Watergate is a cheaper alternative to a full roof sprinkler system, that can be costly to install and produce a lot of water wastage.

The other benefit of the Watergate is in regards to water conservation.

When the device is installed, it allows for excess water to be diverted to a water tank for storage during times of rain. This is a simple way to conserve water and keep it in your water tank to be used during drier periods.

ABOUT THE WATERGATE

The Watergate now comes with a one-way valve to make backfilling and cleaning your gutters even easier.

The Watergate is available to suit all shapes and sizes of downpipe.

100 mm x 75 mm

The Watergate diverter is necessary on all downpipes of your home.  Once installed, by following the step by step instructions, attach your garden hose and you are ready to either backfill your gutters or conserve rain water.

When the Watergate is installed for fire protection it is important to ensure that all downpipes and guttering is sealed with a suitable sealant to avoid leakage.
